About the Graduate Program in Internetworking

Composed of Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters in Internetworking.

The Graduate Program in Internetworking provides a thorough and practical grounding in basic and advanced networking, network design, network management and network software. Subjects cover Local and Wide Area Networks, IP routing and switching protocols, systems programming and end-to-end communications protocols such as TCP. Students will learn how to design and construct internets, and program and develop distributed systems in a Unix/Internet environment. The software development technologies learned include the Java language and other World Wide Web languages.

The program uses resources provided by CISCO Systems. A unique aspect of the program is that students can gain a university qualification and simultaneously be prepared for industry certification. The Graduate Certificate subjects LANs and Routing and Internetworking prepare students for the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) industry qualifications. Preparation for CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is now available.

The program is also flexible, allowing students to complete to their chosen level, which may be a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters degree or extended Masters.

It is an advantage for students to have a degree in Computing, CSE or Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent. Those from other fields may apply. Those with no formal qualifications may apply based on their experience.

This is a full fee paying course. For more information or enquiries regarding these courses, please consult the Entry Requirements section of this site.
